There's No Place Like Home...July 9th What can you say… it was time to go home. At least for some of us. Kimberly, of course, stayed since this was now her home. Angel also stayed, since she was staying with Kimberly for the rest of the summer. So, LeElla, Laura and I loaded up with our luggage and said our goodbyes to Kimberly and Angel at the security checkpoint. I should say, at the first security checkpoint. Once we got through the first checkpoint (where Laura had to give up a bottle of lotion she had bought for a friend and I almost had to give up some jams but they were in small enough bottles that I was able to get them through), we then got to our gate and had to go through a second security checkpoint. Even though our bags had be x-rayed and we had all walked through the x-ray machines, we got to do it all again, and this time, we all also got "wanded". And then, before we could actually sit down at the gate, we had to show our passports and ticket again. And if we had to leave the seating area to go to the bathroom, we had to show them again. It was nice to be secure, but it sure was a pain. But after a very long flight home, and a couple of hours in Atlanta and a much shorter flight from Atlanta, we were back home. Europe was a nice place to visit, but sure was glad to be back in the good ol' US of A. |
